REM Announces New Name, Direction and Website Arlington, VA, November 4, 2002—REM Association Services has relocated to new offices in the Rosslyn area in Arlington, VA, and unveiled a new website (www.remservices.biz). The full-service association management company (AMC), previously known as REM Legislative Services, is managed by Robert E. McLean, CAE. REM manages two 501 (c)(6) associations: the Mailers Council, a coalition of corporations, nonprofit organizations and major mailing associations; and the PaperCom Alliance, a coalition of associations and corporations in the paper, mailing, software, printing, publishing and logistics industries. McLean, a certified association executive, is executive director of both associations. REM also consults with other associations, as well as corporations and unions in the Washington, DC, area. Following is contact information for REM and Bob McLean: REM Association Services AMCs provide association management services on a fee-for-service basis, often for less than it would cost for an association to have its own full-time staff, office and equipment. AMCs may provide the first professional management for associations as they emerge from an all-volunteer status, or allow associations that need to downsize to economize by purchasing only those services they require.
