Association of Language Companies Contracts with REM Association Services Arlington, VA, January 28, 2004—The Association of Language Companies (ALC) has selected REM Association Services, an Arlington, VA, association management company (AMC), to provide full service management for the organization, effective immediately. Robert E. McLean, CAE and REM’s president, will serve as the ALC’s executive director. Founded in 2002, the ALC is the only trade association specifically dedicated to representing the interests of U.S. language services companies, which are part of a $1.4 billion dollar industry and an increasingly important component of America’s war on terrorism. One of the ALC’s primary goals is to promote quality business practices in the language services industry. In fulfilling its mission, the ALC will serve as a focal point for developing and maintaining professional guidelines, maintaining and sharing information for the growth and benefit of members and their clients, educate and inform interested parties and provide forums for discussion and learning in the field of language services. ALC publishes a quarterly newsletter and hosts an annual conference. The 2004 event will be held June 9-12 in Washington, DC. This year ALC will unveil a new advocacy program to educate and inform legislators about issues that affect its members and their clients. REM is a full-service AMC serving national and international associations and societies. In addition to ALC, REM manages another trade association and consults with several others. The firm is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, Greater Washington Society of Association Executives and the International Association of Association Management Companies. ### For more information: |
