ROBERT E. MCLEAN, CAE, NAMED AMC SECTION CHAIRMAN BY AMERICAN SOCIETY OF ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVES

Arlington, VA, August 19, 2008—REM Association Services President Robert E. McLean, CAE, has been named chairman of the Association Management Company (AMC) Section Council for the American Society of Association Executive by ASAE's Board of Directors. The appointment to the one-year term officially began on August 15.

ASAE has 13 different professional interest sections, providing a community for nearly every sub-specialty within association management. The AMC Section Council members are selected for their experience and leadership within the AMC community. The council develops and maintains a variety of resources for AMC professionals, including a training class for new AMCs, a quarterly newsletter, an annual AMC directory, and a listerver, all designed to provide information and insight into effective AMC management.

McLean, a certified association executive, opened REM in 1996. The AMC manages or consults with several nonprofit entities, including national and international trade associations and professional societies whose members are in the US and more than a dozen other countries. REM is also a member of AMC Institute; McLean was the first chair of its Government Relations Committee. McLean has been a presenter and panelist at numerous AMC Institute and ASAE conferences.
